Introduction to who Phoebe is:
Phoebe: “I am a spiritual business coach, multiple business owner, yoga, meditation, somatic therapist and all round I’m trying to just really raise the vibration of women, Obviously men too, but my specialty is women and to help them come back to the, the wisdom of their bodies and to remember that they have all of the magic inside of them, to do whatever they want, whether that is to quit their job and start following a passion that they love. Whether that is to leave a country that no longer lights them up or leave a relationship or work on their relationship with themselves. So that is kind of who I am what I am, you know what I’m doing.
Originally from Australia. I’ve visited more than 60 countries on my travels, it’s been a big passion of mine and the last seven years were in London, and then I’ve come to Bali via Kenya. So that’s been the last the last couple of years, I suppose COVID had really shook me up a little bit and just really made me remember what was important, and the sunshine and nature for me was super important, so I made a little plan to to follow.”
How to Listen to Your Intuition:
Phoebe: “I think initially, yoga brought me to a more spiritual mindset. I was brought up in a very strict Christian household so there was always this like belief of spirituality and having something other than just our physical body. Yoga then led me down this path of finding my own power and connecting with myself and oneness and this kind of universal consciousness. And then I kind of went on a big deep, deep dive journey into self healing into embodiment practices into meditation and all these things because they’re all just tools right. I started a basket and of self healing tools and just as I went along my journey would pick that one up and pick that one up and not that one didn’t work for me I leave that one back down and so I started collecting all these beautiful enriching life tools. And I think the the pinnacle of being able to now bring it as a collective and then help share the tools with others was my somatic therapy training. And that was like doing 10 years of therapy in my training, and it really helped me to, what’s it called, you know when you simmer wine down and you make a source and you really get the potency and the real essence of it.
I feel like the the last say seven years since I moved to London when I turned 30 I’ve been simmering, and I’ve been really like getting to what is my essence. And what is it that I was born on this earth for, and, and that’s what I’ve been working on, and I think the, the pull is that during COVID it allowed the magnifying glass to be put on to the essence and be like: what is that, what do you stand for, how you’re going to share it. And so it’s been a real potent time for me of transformation of breaking down, breaking down I saw a quote the other day was like, “You’re not broken girl you’re just like 100,000 shiny pieces” There’s been a lot of breaking down death rebirthing using lots of different modalities, within the tools that I have and then also reaching out and having other healers help that process as well.
Traditional psychology works with the mind and talks about the story and what happened to you and how did that make you feel, and we go a step further, we do still talk, obviously we need to communicate but then we say, where do you feel that in your body. And then we start the journey into diving deep into the trauma into whatever is happened for you. So whether that’s a big thing, or a little thing, it’s about meeting you, on a human to human level, today, what are you suffering with today. On the surface that may be anxiety that may be depression, they that may be a whole range of things, it might be just shortness of breath, or, or inability to shift weights that you’ve put on over winter or something like that. And it’s like let’s look at the outside and then let’s layer by layer.
Let’s go down deeper, and often or not, we started anxiety and I’m just saying that because it’s something that I deal with still and it’s a normal, you know, a normal thing to be having in our bodies. You start to when you go down deeper, and you and this is like it’s almost like a guided meditation a guided embodiment, and I’ll start to ask you what does, what does that pain feel like or look like, how can you taste it, what is the texture. How does it feel in relation to your body is it bigger than your bodies it’s is it in your body. And then once we get to a place, if it still feels safe to go further. I n asked what is here. What is here for you under all of the layers and often are not, there’s something completely different to the anxiety. There’s sometimes loneliness or feeling of disconnectedness, and that’s where we then start to do the healing work.”
Mindset Coping Mechanisms:
Phoebe: “Limiting my time on social media.
Stop watching the news, oh my goodness that is going to send you into a mind war of a one way narrative. And so that is not something that yeah I don’t have a TV, I haven’t I haven’t owned a TV for seven years and I think that has helped protect me from kind of buying into what what the government say.
And so, my, my tools is I do breath work, And I cry, through breath work that’s like, I know when people, people that haven’t done breath work and haven’t done meditation and they’re like, oh yeah meditation. Oh yeah, I get to that. I literally sit in and do some and breath work I am loving a Kundalini breathwork right now so it’s quite a visceral, like process but there’s a bit of movement with, with the breath work and it’s literally pulls out any emotions that are stuck in Me and I am sitting there bawling my eyes out my husband’s like, and I’m like it’s just I’m just clearing, like I’m just clearing some energy and that’s tears today, and that’s okay. I’ve had to reframe my mindset about what tears are tears are just energy leaving the body that just my husband’s still not quite there with the team. They don’t know they don’t know what to do. So when I’m sitting there, bawling my eyes out and I’m saying I might be in a Kundalini halt like I’m holding my arms after five minutes like and the payer, and you’re going through this cycle of pain, discomfort disease and then come back into it like I can do this, you’re, this is not pain, this is just in your mind and you go through this cycle of Breaking Through Barriers and feeling the pain and pushing through, and I would never really push through pain in my body, through a workout or you know I listen I’m very intuitive in terms of that as a Pisces fellow Piscean we listen to our bodies but in kundalini is a shortened period of pain, and it’s it’s localised and it’s specific it’s supposed to be for breaking through the, the energy blocks that are that are stuck inside you and I teach a lot of this on my self care space, the library of rituals where people can come and find what they need to break through their emotions. It’s all about letting go because you know what you watch last night on the news or social media what your friends that a conversation.
It settles into your body overnight. And you can choose to either wake up and be like, I’m gonna let go of this and move through the body, dance, shake run, walk, or if you don’t do that, it just settles in the body and then more settles in, and then more settles in and then we end up with a sore stomach or a headache, and, and we’re like oh I don’t know where that came from I don’t know. And then that you realise that you’ve just been absorbing all this energy, maybe it’s good energy, maybe it’s negative energy.”
Mindset Hack:
Phoebe: “Yeah, so the first thing I do before I get out of bed, before I make a tea or make a coffee or do whatever I want to do is that I asked myself How am I feeling today? And there’s without judgement, without attaching to why or who or what I literally am a witness to my body and my physical, emotional, spiritual, mental body and be like, how am I feeling today. And then from that space I then consciously choose what then unfolds for me in that day.”
