May already feels busy, with two bank holidays and feeling like you are constantly playing catch up it can be a tad overwhelming.
I have felt that in May every year if I’m honest, and so this year I am refusing to allow that mindset to creep in.
So let me share my strategy for May!
Here are the three things I am doing in May that could help:
1: Having fun. This may seem counter intuitive so stay with me. The only way to keep laser focussed is to ensure there is a balance between pushing your life forwards and being grateful for where you are right now. Anyone close to me knows I am a planner, I like to go on a little adventures and make memories. It doesn’t have to be this big fancy thing it can be a day out with my dog or visiting a new restaurant (I am such a foodie) but if I don’t make time to enjoy the moment all I will do is work. So I am striving to find that balance a lot more this month.
2: Prioritising tasks. Doesn’t this feel like the holy grail. To ensure that you get everything done in the right way in the right time and with the best outcome. It can be a lot especially when we cannot control most things that make such a difference to us. Therefore, the priority for me is based around my overall targets for this month. I don’t just mean financial, I mean everything. The gym at least 5 x per week, two daily dog walks, learning a new skill etc and making all of these things a priority. I am using the high performance technique called high self efficacy and believing that I can do this and I can control it, Once you are in this mindset your month with flourish.
3: Mentoring. I am investing in mentoring to push myself a lot this month. Whilst I believe that I have a unique way of working with clients I still need guidance and help too. I would be such a hypocrite to expect people to work with me without me doing the same!
Here are some journal prompts that could help in May:
1: What do I need to do this month to set up for the summer?
2: What am I leaving behind in April?
3: What was my biggest lesson from April?
4: What will a successful month look like for me?
5: If money was no object what would I do this month?
