Do you remember when you were 18 and you would have these conversations with your friends, probably similar to mine. At university I’ll meet my husband, about 22 I’ll get married, at 25 I’ll start my family and at 28 I’ll move abroad. That was my life mapped out before my eyes at the tender age of 18 – how very little I knew about the World then, its almost so naive its beautiful.
Let me say this before we delve into anything further – your life is not over at 25. You can start creating and stepping into your Inner Power at any age, I feel like we need to take some time to really live life, experience elements of pain and learn to grow and thrive from that place. I certainly have, and I changed my whole business model at 34. Welcome to the 10 tips and reasons that I love this journey at this age:
+ What do you want your life to look like in 5 years. Really think about that for a moment, do you want to be in an office? or working freelance? do you want a product or service based business.
+ What are your core values. What is the most important thing to you in your life? is it Adventure, fun, love, family, freedom. Find your word…. create the life around it.
+ Put imposter syndrome in the bin. That does not serve you in any way to have thoughts like that in your mind, whenever you ask yourself the question why me? why not reframe this to think WHY NOT ME! own your space and your thoughts.
+ Find your niche. This is trickier and takes trial and error (I have rebranded three times in five years) but its part of the journey. Learn what is working and what isn’t and really take your time to acknowledge that.
+ Become obsessed with your life. While this may seem and sound self indulgent it really isn’t, its the gift of self love that will ensure your self confidence grows leaps and bounds. Enjoy the daily tasks, the morning coffee, ticking things off the list, learn to appreciate and celebrate every single step you are taking.
+ Find your tribe. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely place with nobody to bounce ideas off. The beauty of working for yourself is that you get to create the life you want and surround yourself with the people you want. Be bold, reach out to them, make time to support each other on your path.
+ Take your time. What is the rush? your business is for your whole life – and your thirties are a great decade to set the foundations. As women we feel so much pressure from so many elements of our life at a certain age, I beg you to take your time with your business.
+ Be authentic. You have so much to give the world exactly as you are you do not need to dim your light to fit in. Be bold and shout out to the world about what you offer. People need to hear from you.
+ Create the thing you cannot find. Now I’m not saying we need to launch a competitor to instagram or anything (unless you want to babes) but think about what you cant find, what is your voice? what could you and only you offer to people.
+ Enjoy the process. Please have a vision and a direct idea of what you want to achieve but also please enjoy the process. That is the messy bit in the middle where you are living off coffee, hair up in a bun and a pen lids chewed all over the desk / floor. It’s the bit where your vision will start to come to life and once that process is gone and you are launched, you will miss the creation.
I believe in you so much and every client I work with has this Inner Power that I just love to release. Let me know how you get on chasing your dreams.
Love, Kirstyx
